The new release "Open Zoo" from "Shezoo" is finally done (mixed by Dave Snow and mastered by Claudio Knaus) and available in all stores! "Open Zoo" already earned a lot of outstanding reaction from the scene - make sure to check out some tunes at our Sourmash audioplayer ("Projects & References").

Sourmash goes Irish: the new album "Last Night's Craic" (mixed and mastered at Soumash Studio) from the Irish-Folk band "Pigeons On The Gate" has survived the long way to the press factory and back. Dave earned a lot of praise for his amazing work on that release - but therefore we can give high praise back to Roger and Lajescha from "Pigeons On The Gate" for their outstanding work and masterly performance! A must for all "music-gourmets" and irish folk lovers!

"Core", the solo-work of singer & songwriter "Mrs Redwall" has been finished as well and we're actually searching / checking out possible and suitable partner to release "Core" all over the world. Another excellent and unique Dave Snow production.
 
Next on, we are proud to announce that you can hear the song "Box Of Tricks" on "Roger Glover & The Guilty Party"'s new release "If Life Was Easy". Dave has co-produced and co-mixed this song, together with Roger Glover, "Mr. Deep Purple", himself at the Sourmash Studio. The album and therefore all the songs got their final shape by Peter Denenberg. This project was another cool advantage for the Sourmash Studio and naturally speaks for itself! Check it out on our "Projects&References" site.

The next release we wanna share with you is called "Sagarmatha". The Asia-Mantra-Jazz-Rock-Band "Angry Buddha", around frontman "1st.RH Tinglay Mordechai", released now their 2nd EP with this production and they are already working on their next release, which will be fully produced again (thank you very much for your trust!) by Dave Snow and his team. Further on, "Angry Buddha" & "D.O.G. Productions" are planning to release a split CD together with the Israeli band "Arallu" and the band "Head-Z". "Arallu" already reached kinda cult status in their home country and counting themselves as founder of the misanthropical black metal. Furthermore we're in proceedings with "Arallu" and also the known Israeli rock-band "Desert". Dave already did some mix on an upcoming single of "Desert". We'll keep you up-to-date!

You'll find songs from almost every actual release on our Sourmash music player - go and check 'em out! As u know, feedbacks are always very welcome...

The development of the Sourmash Studio wears on very well and besides the completion of our 2nd control room on the upper floor, we're busy working on the setup and structuring for our new bureau space as well, as finding a suitable person for taking over this new task (check "Jobs@Sourmash"). Therefore we make sure, that the outstanding service, the high standard and our innovative work-philosophy is still guaranteed with increasing customers.

As you can imagine, new projects are already waiting and actually we started a new production for the genius retro-brit-rock-band "Krit". The pre-production is already done and we're sure to record, produce and mix another mind blowing piece of great music!

And it goes on: the innovative Nu-Metal-Band "Steeld" gained Dave & his team to produce their new album, which will let your speakers go "boooom" and leave your house falling apart in less than 3 seconds. Pre-Production was very successfull and we're all ready to start the main-production on the 28th november 2011. You can expect a "double-fist in your face" Nu-Metal record with rap insoles and sweeping melodies à la Limp Bizkit & Linking Park.

Last but not least, a goody for all "Acey Slade" fans out there: the upcoming new album of the polarizing US-Rock-Star will be produced & mixed by Dave Snow. We're ready for another unique and magical masterpiece directly out of the Sourmash-kitchen!! We'll keep ya up to date -  ROCK ON!

Bob Spring / Atomic Flower / Shezoo / Mrs Redwall / Bowlerhats / Blue Paradise

There are still tons of work to do, like always, but that's how we like it! Besides the running projects like "Atomic Flower" and "Mrs Redwall", the hard rock band "Shezoo", around "front-cat" Natacha, contacted Dave, to let him completely re-mix and finally also do the mastering for their upcoming album.

"Mrs Redwall"'s debut album is gettin' the final tweaks now. At this last stage, our mastering engineer Claudio is taking response on the last improving shapes. Get your own copy, soon!

Also, the epic-metal-band "Atomic Flower" is more than satisfied with their new mix, done by Dave Snow. As soon as the final-mix is done, this masterpiece will receive its final shapes from Claudio as well.

Further on, the rock band "The Bowlerhats" will enter the studio by the end of July to produce their debut album, together with Dr. D. "the master himself" Snow.

Unfortunately, the time schedule for the highly anticipated "Bob Spring" release, as well as the "Blue Paradise" album, have been delayed cause of some "emergency mixing" projects.  However, the huge parts of this two projects are done and we're looking forward to finish them very soon.

It's a lot going on at the Sourmash Studio and we're busy with exciting, innovative and creative projects - already reaching 2012! Rock n Roll!

As some of you know - I'm (Dan) playing the guitar with AMAGORTIS and since one year I'm working with the Sourmash Studio (owner & producer Dave Snow), which is internationally well known for its outstanding n blasting sound quality, as well as its unique "rock'n'roll" feeling. The business has been going very well for us and so we're building up a second control room - dedicated to be my new 24/7 workspace!  ;)

We've splashy news for you: the Sourmash Studio is working "at full power" once more - 2011 is standing completely in the sign of your needs!
Beside our well known "first class high end" control room A, we're now offering a brand new control room B for an unbeatable price of 500.-- CHF / studio day, incl. engineer (excl. VAT)! You can call us crazy - and maybe you're right!
The new control room B is dedicated to all bands and performers who whishes a "budget consciously" production without any quality decrease and logically including all the creative feeling and support of the Sourmash Studio. The technical equipment is totally up-to-date in internationally known highest-quality  (the new ProTools HD 9 incl the new crazy HD OMNI interfaces, cool preamps & plugins, Barefoot monitoring, Vovox cabeling and so on... (see chapter "studio/equipment" for more information and pix later on) and the existing famous recording rooms can be headed adaptably. Parallel working (control room A + B in simultanously use with bigger projects - or just to be faster at all) allows now an even more efficient workflow, as well as a subdivision / switching (by wish) of the different working steps.
Further we've renovated the whole Sourmash Studio, "beautifyed the appearance" and created a uniform design to increase the "feel-good-factor" for our customers once more (photos follow shortly). You will love it - for sure! Rock 'n' Roll!

The recordings for "Patricia B. (Mrs Redwall)" 's solo album are done and the songs are getting mixed now and within the next days by Dave Snow. This production is once more assigned to be anything but to the state kind 0815 pop sound. By the help of ambitious musician, as for example Rico Horber (Stoneman, Swiss Drum Academy) on drums, Stephan Brunner on bass or Pezzo (Fast Lane) on guitars, lent an unusual and creative new air to the album and we're sure that also this production will become a topic of conversation. At this point: many thanks to everybody who has been involved! Great teamwork!

The metal band "Atomic Flower"  has entrusted us with their upcoming "epic and bombastic" new album for doing the mix and final tweaks and as well the mastering - Dave Snow already can't wait to start with the forthcoming final mixing process. He'll create the perfectly suitable international sound, matching the album and the band together with a unique sound identity. On top of it, Dave will revive the "magic" of this cool band! Be prepared!

Back with newest out of Sourmash Studio, we're proud to inform you that the upcoming "Bob Spring" album is nearly done and Dave's heavy busy with the mixing process of this master piece.
We already knew after the recording session, that this release will become an absolute "killer" for "Junk-Country-Blues" and general music lovers -  in the meanwhile it's sure: this album will catch EVERYBODY who just carries a tiny spark of music understanding inside. Be prepared, you'll love it...

Also the Big-Band production for "Blue Paradise" is finally, after hard work and countless recording sessions, on the finish line and just waits to get the final tweaks and magic shapes from Dave Snow. As already mentioned, this production is extremely innovative for a Big-Band - jazz, funk, fusion, rock plus brass - and the catchy grooves of Blue Paradise will set you immediately into a party mood. It's almost impossible to ignore the vibes and freshness of their songs.

Beside that, we've successfuly begun the pre-production for Patricia B.  She showed up with a bunch of cool song ideas, just piano and vocal basics. This lady is highly talented and Dave Snow will produce her new solo album now. You have to expect a deep going, sometimes melancholy and very sensitive pop/rock album with a breathtaking female voice which gets under your skin. We'll keep you informed!

Back from the well-earned winter holidays, right back into the completely overfilled  post office boxes of our Sourmash Studio - "big thanks" for all the confidence and trust you've set in us! We're already thrilled on a successful and exciting 2011, with many new and as well old known faces! Beside the projects of BOB SPRING, KAREL BRAIG and BLUE PARADISE - which still reach into 2011, we've already fixed a lot of new bands for this year and the whole booking situation runs towards a fully booked business calendar. So, do not let yourself "snatch away the best appointments under the nose", better get in touch with us as early as you can (ideally before any Pre-Production - not only one week before your desired recording date) and let us discuss your project together, organice it and pull out a hammer production into the world of music! Your dream - our mission!

Blue Paradise / Karel Braig - Back in the Studio

The year leans towards to the end, however, thoughts of relaxin' and chillin' do not arise; there is more work to do than ever before! Once more, the Big Band "Blue Paradise", all around their leader Yves Kopelent, are back in the Sourmash Studio to work further on their large-scale project. This time, the focus is set upon their brass-section (alto/tenor/baritone sax, trumpet & trombone), to enhance their already recorded material, again with even more authenticity and groove. With guarantee, this becomes one of the most innovative (Rock-)Big-Band productions of the modern age. We will keep you up to date and can't wait for the next recording sessions (brass solos and add ons).

The production of the solo artist / singer & songwriter "Karel Braig" becomes more and more clear and gets in shape, step by step - we are already looking very forward to hear the newest tunes and ideas! During the following days we'll record and mix their new EP, celebrating extremely groovy, "Asia styled-Metal-Mantra-Jazz-Punk". A special project of the other kind, without any creative limits and feeling that searches his equals. With other words: exactly the right thing for all those who don't like the "0815"  set off!

Sad news

Every existence comes to an end; we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our beloved dog "Dina". She was the sunshine in our life and has brought so much joy in our hearts and gave us a lot of motivation with her positive way of life. Her desire to play has held us always on trot and every tense situation, in the studio, at home or on the road, was broken up with the twink of an eye. … it was still too early!! We will miss you Dina. R.I.P.

Alright, lets move to the "real" news. There was a lot going on all over the time. So we finished the production for SHINEBAR's upcoming debut album; which is gonna be mastered by Claudio around next month. Me, Dave and Shinebar are more than happy with the end result and we really made it, to push the band and their whole sound to a new level - now, Shinebar is equipped with it's own sound identity!
At the moment we're busy mixing ABINCHOVA's debut album. The recordings turned out very well and we're sure that these boys n girls will love the shredding, bright & punchy sound of their mix.
By the way, we're still working on BOB SPRING's upcoming studio album (it's all about mixdown now)... believe us, this is gonna be a huge KILLER one!

The Troika / The Sinful Saints - "Last Minute Productions"
September 2010

Beside the daily recording sessions with SHINEBAR, we had the pleasure to meet our good friends from "THE SINFUL SAINTS" again. They joined us to produce a new radio hit, hopefully soon to be played all over the stations! Hard work - we did all the recording (incl. an awesome Cello!), editing and mix within 2 days (weekend session - it's quite heavy to get some free dates at Sourmash until february / march 2011; but like you know: there is always a solution, just contact us!). Great song, great performance, innovative mix -  now, the guys are waiting for their final master of this magical masterpiece, that will reach the hearts out there soon...

Also, the Goth-Electro-Combo "THE TROIKA" were lucky to catch one of the last free weekends and entered our rooms to finish 3 new tracks for their upcoming full album (all tracks have been produced and mixed at Sourmash Studio). We proudly created an awesome deep and dark sound, that will lead all the Troika and gothic fans out there to their inner devil! Watch out and be ready for fantastic synth-sound-textures and creative details... another fine art done at our lovely studio...

Shinebar - started production for their upcoming debut-album
August 2010
The band, leaded by singer and songwriter Matt has taken over our Sourmash Studio, supported by Dave and his team, to produce their debut album, basically pop/rock, but mixed up with creative and interesting "looking-over-the-border" ideas. A debut production is always very hard work, no excuses, but everybody was happy to see this young tree growing up nicely after the first drum recordings. To say it with the words of frontman Matt: "Damn, Dave, those drums are sounding that awesome already - you definitely know how to do this outreagous stuff!" - well, many thanks Matt! Let's go on... :-)

Bob Spring - long awaited high-end full blown studio production

His fans already deify him like a "god"; musicians and biz people call him "an exceptional talent", a "prodigy", the "dirt-trash-boogie-man"... well.. fact is: Dave Snow kept an eye on Bob since years and now decided to take the trip and sign Bob Spring with Snow Ground Production (Dave's own production & publishing company) to produce an awesome, innovative and totally fresh album! Working together with outrageous studio musicians, this album is gonna be a killer! Be prepared... be prepared... this is gonna be massive!

After august 2009, the guys from Acidcell have visited us already the second time - with a new band-linup and a totally new sound image (which they wanted me to test, shape and try to give 'em a unique identity) – they were very happy with our work, as you can see! Now they are "cooking with the large trowel": Dave Snow is producing and recording their album and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith...) will do the mix. An unbeatable team - this is gonna be a KILLER! Let's rock guys!

Well, originally, Dave planned to have some holidays in march, just a few days... but as you can imagine, it never happened. The cool thing is: it doesn't disturb anybody - we love to work (and to entertain you, of course)! And we are working on the final part of the upcoming Amagortis album - vocals! A lovely guttural-riot-party, very nice! And again: hell yeah!!

Poor monks! They've been in some studio to record and mix their important EP (upcoming tour in march! time pressure, time pressure!) but they weren't happy about anything at all - it just sounded bad! Finally they called Dave Snow to help 'em... "...and Dr. Snow and his team of surgeons layed their magic hands on the tracks; and saved 'em!" It wasn't that easy, to be honest - but at the end it was more than "saving", it turned into a fantastic-innovative-hammer! Cheerio, my lovely angry buddhas! The band will join us again later this year, to record/mix a new EP, all at Sourmash Studio, from the beginning, no excuses. Psychedelic rock n roll with tibetian spices. Dave is already looking forward to this production - happy times!

Pete from our "regular customer" The Troika had to be a bit patient this time - we're pretty overloaded at the moment. But finally we found some time to mix their new songs - and everybody was happy! Yeah right, pagan-metal! It's always nice to have some diversification with sound-styles. This big band (7 members), from lucern, switzerland, is rocking the studio! To all Stoneman fans out there: finally the band hits the studio to do the main recordings, after they have worked on the songs and the preproduction for almost 2 years! STONEMAN is ready to rumble again! Dave Snow, the master himself, has loads of work to do – songwriting, pre-production and now finally the recording.... oh yeah, this is gonna be a masterpiece, no excuses! Hard, brutal, aggressive and veeeery evil… Stoneman at it's best! There is just one question now: when does Dave gonna do the mixdown??? We heard some voices sayin "may, may, may...." well.... be prepared... :-)
